Ledford Leads The Way On Opening Night At LaSalle

La Salle, IL (5/7/25) — The buzz was undeniable Tuesday night as the LaSalle Speedway & Event Center roared back to life with its long-awaited grand reopening. Among the highlights of the evening was a highly anticipated showdown featuring 32 UMP Modifieds, with drivers from across the Midwest chasing a $1,200 payday in front of a capacity crowd.

Setting the tone early was veteran driver David Stremme (Mifflintown, PA), who blistered the high-banked quarter-mile with a lightning-quick lap of 12.881 seconds, earning overall fast qualifier honors against a stacked field of talent.

When racing action hit the track, fans were treated to wheel-to-wheel battles and bold slide jobs, and it was Chase Holland (Success, MS) who struck first in Heat Race #1, powering his way to an early win and staking his claim as a threat for the night’s main event. Heat Race #2 went to Michael Ledford (Pontiac, IL) as he wheeled his #09 to the checkers. In a stacked Heat Race #3, it was Kyle Hammer (Clinton, IL) with Ray Bollinger and Cole Falloway right behind. Heat Race #4 saw the nights fast qualifier (David Stremme) led the way to pick up the final heat race of the evening.

When the UMP Modifieds filed onto the speedway for the A-Main, Michael Ledford took control early and never lost the lead for the 25-lap event.
