LaSalle, IL (5/23/25) – The engines are revving and anticipation is building as LaSalle Speedway & Event Center prepares to make history with the highest paying race weekend the track has ever seen. Mark your calendars for May 30th and 31st as the Illinois Valley Showdown takes center stage with high-octane action, big names, and even bigger payouts.
The weekend kicks off Friday night with the return of the MARS Racing Series for the Twisted Twin 25’s, presented by Arizona Sport Shirts. This unique event format will keep fans on the edge of their seats, featuring not one, but two 25-lap A-Mains — each offering a hefty $5,000 winner’s purse and $300 to start.
Racing action begins Friday with Qualifying, Heats, and B-Mains to set the stage for the first A-Main. But the excitement doesn’t stop when the first checkered flag waves — the cars will remain on the track and be re-racked for a second 25-lap showdown. The catch? The top 10 lead-lap finishers from the first race will be inverted, promising drama, strategy, and fierce competition in the second feature.
As if that’s not enough, the top four combined point earners from both Friday night A-Mains will secure pole positions in Saturday’s heat races for the main event — the $25,000-to-win Illinois Valley Showdown. All other drivers will have to re-qualify on Saturday for another shot at the massive purse.
